Council
Mayor’s Welcome
Vermilion is a town like none other! We are richly endowed with a fascinating history; vibrant community; post-secondary institution, featuring one of Canada's most distinguished fire schools; conference center; numerous recreational facilities and a provincial park adjacent to our town boundaries.
We are a progressive community and have pride in our Town. Some of the projects that we participate in include Alberta's Mainstreet Programme and Communities in Bloom. In addition, in 2009, our downtown area is undergoing a major streetscapes infrastructure and beautification project. This is a very exciting time for Vermilion residents and we are excited about seeing our Town's new revitalized look.
Vermilion is also firmly committed to economic development, with a high level of cooperation between the Town and the business community. If you’re considering establishing or relocating a business in Vermilion, I invite you to contact the Town Office to discuss some possible opportunities. And if you’re already a resident of the area, I hope these pages help you discover more about your community and its services.
Perhaps one of our Town's best features is its friendliness and hospitality. Whether you're a long-term resident or a visitor discovering our community for the first time, you will be greeted with warmth and smiles. So come and discover one of Alberta's best kept secrets....come for a day, a week or a lifetime, and experience the difference that's "Definitely Vermilion"!
