This Regular Council Meeting of March 16, 2021 was brief and included a number of Committee Reports including a recommendation from the Environment Committee to reappoint Juliane Ollinger to the Environment Committee for a three-year term, expiring March 2024.
Prior to this meeting, Council toured the nearly completed wastewater treatment plant which has been under consideration since 2014 and under construction since 2019.

Curbside Organics Collection Coming April 27, 2021 Copy

The new organics program that is coming to all single-family homes will be picked up by Integrity Waste Solutions. The organic waste will be transported to an Alberta Environment and Parks approved facility capable of accepting leaf and yard waste, food waste and other consumer organics from municipal organic collection programs, and bio-solids from wastewater treatment plants. Currently the closest Provincially approved facilities are near Edmonton or Penhold.

It is time to roll out your green bin!
With the curbside organics program starting April 27, 2021 it is a good time to pull your green bin out of storage and get ready for spring cleanup. A rollout bin will be delivered to properties that do not have a green bin the week of April 12-16, 2021.

The Town will be offering curbside organics collection to all single-family homes starting April 27, 2021.
Green rollout bins and kitchen bins will be delivered the week of April 12-16, 2021.
Collection Days: Tuesday (weekly in the summer/bi-weekly in the winter)
