Utilities bills are due upon receipt, however to avoid a late payment penalty, payment must be made by the 2nd business day of the subsequent month. After this day a 2.5% penalty is charged on the outstanding balance.
There are several convenient options to pay your bill:

Payments can be made online using SimplePay.
A convenience fee applies to cover payment processing charges. These fees are collected by SimplePay and are not received by the Town of Vermilion.
Fees:
Credit Card (Visa, Mastercard, American Express, UnionPay): 2.5%
Interac e-Transfer: 1.0%
PayPal: 2.5%
Canada Post (cash or debit):
$1.00 – $1,000.00 → $3.95
$1,000.01 – $2,000.00 → $5.95
$2,000.01 – $3,000.00 → $7.95
Note:Please submit payments at least 3 business days before the due date to allow time for processing.

Monthly Pre-Authorized Payment Plan
Pre-authorized payments provide a convenient way to pay your utility bill automatically.
Benefits include:
Monthly payments are automatically withdrawn from your bank account on the last banking day of each month
Reduced risk of late or missed payment penalties
To enroll in the pre-authorized payment plan, please contact the Utilities Department at 780-581-2415.
Note:
If you are enrolled in the pre-authorized payment plan and need to change bank accounts, please notify the Utilities Department by the 15th of the month. This ensures the change is processed before the next withdrawal.
Failure to notify the Town may result in additional withdrawals or fees.

An after-hours drop box is available at the main entrance of Town Hall.
If a utility bill is not paid within 35 days of the bill date, service may be subject to disconnection.
If disconnected, a $50.00 reconnection fee will apply. Multiple disconnections may result in increased reconnection fees.
