It's been proclaimed Disability Employment Awareness Month October 2023 in the Town of Vermilion. Persons with disabilities are valued members of our community and deserve the opportunity to live and work with their community where they are respected and rewarded for their efforts, skills and accomplishments.

It's been proclaimed World Elder Abuse Awareness Day June 15, 2023 in the Town of Vermilion. Elder abuse does not just describe physical injuries — it includes a broad range of harms related to an older person’s emotional and psychological care.

It's been proclaimed that June is Recreation and Parks Month (JRPM) in the Town of Vermilion!. The month of June is the perfect opportunity to get active, explore the many benefits of Recreation and Parks while celebrating the ability to spend time with family and friends!

National Public Works Week (NPWW) - May 21-27, 2023. The Council for the Town of Vermilion proclaimed May 21 - 27, 2023 as National Public Works Week.

International Economic Development Week May 8 - 12, 2023. The Council for the Town of Vermilion proclaimed May 8-12, 2023 as Economic Development Week.

National Volunteer Week April 16 - 22, 2023. The Council for the Town of Vermilion proclaimed April 16 - 22, 2023 as National Volunteer Week.

The Council for the Town of Vermilion are proclaiming October 24, 2022 as World Polio Day. Mayor Throndson and Council wants to encourage all citizens to join me and Rotary International in the fight for a polio-free world.
