In the Event of a Canada Post Work Stoppage

The Town of Vermilion would like to advise residents and businesses of alternatives available and changes in services in the event of a Canada Post work stoppage. 
 
Departments and services affected by this work stoppage include: 
Assessment and Taxation 
There are many convenient ways to pay your property and/or business taxes. These include: 

  • Tax Instalment Payment Plan (TIPP). 

  • Online payment. 

  • At your bank and credit union. 

  • Courier. 

  • In person at 5021 49th Avenue during regular business hours, 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., Monday to Friday (except holidays) via cheque, bank draft, debit card, and cash.

  • Note: Credit cards are not accepted for in-person payment of property or business taxes. 

  • Envelope Drop Box located left of the front entrance for afterhours drop off. 

Corporate Finance 

Vendors/suppliers 
Payments to municipal vendors/suppliers of services and goods will still be made. 
 
If you are not currently set up for direct deposit and still require payment, please contact us at 780-581-2420. For other accounts payable information, including receiving details on how to set up direct deposit, please contact 780-581-2420. 
 
Invoices can be emailed to arap@vermilion.ca 

Cemeteries 

Please note that invoices will be emailed to the provided email address on the account.  Payments can be made to the Town of Vermilion via e-transfer (utilities@vermilion.ca) or in person at Town Hall. Should you wish to make a payment in person and Town Hall is closed, please utilize the Envelope Drop Box, located left of the front entrance. If you have questions, concerns, or would like to confirm your email address, please contact 780-581-2402. 
 
Public Works & Utilities 

Please call the office at 780-581-2415 for any questions or concerns. 
 
Utility Bills 
Customers who receive a utility bill (either by Canada Post,emailor another delivery service) must pay the amount owing by the due date to avoid late payment charges. 
 
Utility bills can be paid: 

  • Using online or telephone banking.

  • At authorized agents (e.g., financial institutions). 

  • In person at Town Hall, 5021 - 49th Avenue during regular business hours, 8:30 am to 4:30 pm, Monday to Friday (except holidays), with cash, cheque, money order, or debit card. 

  • Using 'PaySimply', a third-party online payment service, which allows customers to pay using major credit cards, such as Visa, MasterCard and American Express. 

 
We encourage everyone to sign up for automatic withdrawals and electronic bill delivery to avoid service disruption.
