The Town of Vermilion cares deeply about creating a unique and vibrant retail community. Therefore, the Town is conducting a Consumer Survey as part of larger Retail Market & Gap Analysis. This project is designed to better understand the shopping habits, preferences, and needs of both residents, visitors and businesses. The purpose of the study is to gather detailed insights on what goods and services are currently in demand, where people prefer to shop, and what influences their purchasing decisions. The findings from this survey will help identify gaps in the local retail market and highlight opportunities that support the development of a more curated and cohesive retail ecosystem; one that balances local independent businesses as well as compatible branded/franchise opportunities – Your input as a consumer is critical to Vermilion’s retail success.
The Vermilion transfer site will close at 2:00 PM on both Saturday, December 24, 2022, and Saturday December 31, 2022. The Vermilion transfer site will be closed on Boxing Day— Monday, December 26, 2022.
The Town of Vermilion office will be closed for Remembrance Day Friday, November 11, 2022.
The 2022 Peace and Peace Officers’ Memorial Day is on Sunday, September 25, 2022.
The Town of Vermilion invites qualified Proponents with the capabilities and experience to submit proposals to enter into an agreement for concession services at the Stadium and Arena. The Town of Vermilion is seeking a concession operator who can maximize a return by offering consistent, highly competent concession management and a product offering which responds to the expected Stadium/Arena clientele.
NOTICE: Any tax payments received after 4:30 PM, July 15, 2022, will be subject to penalties.
In accordance with the Municipal Government Act and amendments thereafter the Council of the Town of Vermilion will hold a Public Hearing in consideration of passing Bylaw 5-2022 to establish an off-site levy for land that is to be subdivided or developed within the Town of Vermilion. Off-site levies collected from developers are used to facilitate growth of the community by providing harmonized off-site levy rates for roads, water, sanitary, and stormwater infrastructure that are fair and equitable and comply with legislative and regulatory requirements.
The Town of Vermilion will no longer fund future road improvements through local improvement taxes. Eliminating any new/future local improvement taxes will be made possible by an infrastructure reserve funded by utility rates.
NOTICE: Be aware of bears roaming the Vermilion River Valley area. Residents living near the river valley or walking trails use extra caution.
Notice is hereby given that the assessment roll has been prepared for the Town of Vermilion in the Province of Alberta. Subject to the provisions of the Municipal Government Act, Section 311 (1) notice is also given that the 2022 Combined Property Assessment & Tax Notices have been mailed. The Municipal Government Act, Section 307 requires that the assessment roll is open for inspection during business hours (8:30 am to 4:30 pm).
During the maintenance work, the roadway will be reduced to one-lane traffic and the East staircase will be closed for use. Some noise due to equipment movement can be expected.
